Choose the right fuel flow meter for your application

When considering the use of a fuel flow meter in a diesel distribution system, the flow meter will count the fuel as it is distributed in the transaction. This is called a batch total, which can usually be reset before each transaction. Therefore, there are two totals on most flowmeters, and the other is the cumulative total, which is the total amount of fuel delivered over the life of the flowmeter and is usually not resettable. Because the consumption rate of heating oil is slow, it takes a while to measure.
